General Purpose
University of Guelph Hospitality team has been voted the #1 Food Service in Canada by Maclean’s magazine. Come work with a team of passionate chefs who are committed to serving quality dishes made from locally sourced ingredients to the University community.
Under direct supervision of the 1st Cook or 2nd Cook, a 3rd Cook works primarily with fast food products.
Duties and Responsiblilities
- Ensuring food is prepared, cooked properly and served in an attractive manner
- Develop recipes and produce food that minimize waste
- Maintain safe and sanitized equipment and work area
- Assist in food inventory and control
- Support kitchen operations and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Grade 10 education in addition to some related experience in the hospitality industry in a fast-paced environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Having attained or working towards the Red Seal designation is preferred.
- Must be willing to work a flexible shift schedule.
- Regular annual schedule is September to April, with schedule subject to change based on operational requirements.
