General Purpose

Reporting to the Associate Director, Academic Quality and Student Success, the Manager, Strategic Enrolment and Registrarial Services is responsible for providing strategic and operational expertise and leadership in the context of undergraduate (College) admission, enrolment and registrarial services at Ridgetown Campus. The position plays a crucial role in program innovation, renewal, growth and the sustainability of academic programs at Ridgetown Campus with a strong focus on accountability, operational excellence and resiliency. This position will work closely with the Manager, Business Development Centre to identify opportunities for collaboration in academic programs at the diploma, certificate, apprenticeship, post-diploma and micro-credential levels.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Manager, Strategic Enrolment and Registrarial Services is responsible for all registrarial systems and functions for Ridgetown Campus. In coordination with the University of Guelph registrar services, the incumbent will ensure efficient and effective operation of student information systems, consistent with academic policies and procedures and maintenance of academic records. The incumbent will be responsible for processing and executing admission decisions. The incumbent will generate and provide appropriate and timely admissions record data and analytical reports for campus and University use throughout the application cycle. The Manager will coordinate the scheduling and timetabling functions to support instructors, staff and students across campus with course and exam scheduling. The incumbent will represent Ridgetown Campus on various registrarial services committees and liaise with the University to develop and coordinate various systems. The Manager will participate in the review of a variety of academic admission policy and materials, curricular changes as well as participate in program admissions, progress and retention analysis. The incumbent will work closely with the executive leadership team to develop and maintain a strategic measurement framework for recruitment, admissions and enrolment decision making, and provide research and analysis of proposed new delivery models and academic pathways. The Manager will provide leadership to professional and support staff in a multi-faceted, time-sensitive environment. The Manager will collaborate with the Communications and Engagement team to maximize admission response.   

 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with three or more years of progressive and demonstrated experience in post-secondary admission adjudication/assessment, or other related/relevant administrative experience in a university setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and problem-solve under pressure;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work with and process confidential information with discretion and sensitivity;
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills with a record of teamwork and collaboration;
  • Strategic planning, strong judgment, critical thinking and analytical skills;
  • Successful experience and record of accomplishment overseeing a service-oriented team;
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with University employees, faculty, students and the public in a collaborative, collegial, cooperative and respectful manner;
  • Knowledge of and competency with complex information systems and database management with the ability to analyze data and make meaningful and applicable interpretation;
  • Proficiency is required in the use of word processing, database and spreadsheet, presentation, information systems, email and electronic calendar software;
  • Experience working with Colleague is an asset.
