The Human Resources team is seeking a Senior Consultant, Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) who is passionate about building capability, strengthening leadership, and enabling meaningful organizational change across our diverse campus community - from the main University of Guelph campus, to our research stations, and the Ridgetown campus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Learning & Organizational Development this role will partner with leaders, teams, and HR colleagues to design and deliver innovative learning solutions that advance the University’s strategic priorities and nurture a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
You will play a key role in:
- Driving organizational effectiveness and change initiatives;
- Enhancing leadership and professional development;
- Strengthening employee engagement, well-being, and inclusion.
Key accountabilities include:
- Collaborate with faculties, departments, and campus partners to identify learning and development needs and opportunities;
- Design, facilitate, and evaluate high-impact learning programs for staff and faculty;
- Provide consulting and coaching to support team development, innovation, and positive change;
- Contribute to university-wide programs such as performance success, onboarding, and employee recognition;
- Lead specialized projects that bring forward emerging trends and leading practices in L&OD;
- Use data and evaluation methods to measure program effectiveness and continuously improve outcomes;
- Act as a trusted advisor and role model in continuous learning, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and employee well-being;
- Build strong partnerships across HR and the broader university community.
Requirements
We are looking for a collaborative, forward-thinking professional who thrives in a complex, people-focused environment.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field required;
- Master’s degree in Adult Education, Organizational Development, or a related field considered an asset;
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in organizational development, learning and development, or human resources, including experience partnering with leaders to address organizational challenges, facilitate change, and support workforce development initiatives;
- Expertise in adult learning, facilitation, coaching, and organizational development practices;
- Experience delivering group facilitation, consulting, and organizational change initiatives.

The target hiring salary for this position is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
