Duties and Responsibilities
The Human Resources department is seeking a motivated pension and benefits professional to join the Total Compensation team. Reporting to the Manager, Pension & Benefits, the Pension and Benefits Assistant requires proficiency with data auditing and cleanup. Tools will include Excel, Word, Adobe PDF and HTML/Drupal. In this role, the successful candidate will provide self-guided support to the P&B team, as well customer service to employees and retirees. The assistant will be responsible for billings, data entry, and ensuring that documentation and communications are current and accurate. Duties will include monitoring specific email inboxes and coordinating appropriate and timely responses. The assistant will update, and maintain content development for the website, and employee/retiree documentation.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

Diploma/Degree in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent education and related work experience

Proficiency within Microsoft Office (particularly Excel: vlookup, pivot tables, etc)

Proven analytical/problem solving skills with a solid mathematics skillset;

Ability to analyze and interpret data with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement;
-
Ability to work independently, including problem solving and determining next steps.

Strong customer service focus and solution orientation utilizing written and oral communications
-
Ability to work well under pressure, meet established deadlines and manage multiple priorities;

Ability to handle matters requiring high level of diplomacy, sensitivity and confidentiality;

Knowledge and understanding of University policies, procedures and collective agreements is considered an asset.

The target hiring salary for this position is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
