General Purpose

The Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) at University of Guelph is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and results-oriented Manager, Graduate Marketing and Recruitment to lead the development of a central prospective graduate student experience aimed at increasing graduate applications and enrolment. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your passion for education and demonstrated ability to craft compelling messaging that appeals to diverse audiences to drive forward-thinking marketing initiatives, formulate strategic recruitment methods, and support post-offer engagement to attract, enroll, and retain top-tier graduate students globally.

 

Reporting to the Director, OGPS, you will excel in collaborative settings, working across colleges and aligning with central Communications & Marketing standards. Your proficiency in digital marketing, outreach, and brand expansion, combined with your capability to balance strategic vision with operational execution, will ensure our graduate programs are competitive, accessible, and attractive to a diverse audience. This role is vital in shaping the future of graduate studies at the University of Guelph by fostering a cohesive and dynamic student journey from initial interest to application and enrolment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement targeted marketing strategies to promote graduate programs and support new program launches.
  • Oversee the Digital Content & Creative Services Officer, and manage related digital platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional branding and audience needs.
  • Collaborate with academic units, alumni networks, and educational partners to enhance program credibility and visibility.
  • Develop and lead recruitment initiatives, representing the University at graduate fairs and delivering engaging presentations.
  • Provide post-offer supports to incoming students, reducing barriers to enrollment and fostering community through initiatives like graduate student ambassadors and organizing graduate orientation.
  • Analyze trends and data to refine marketing strategies and enrollment approaches, ensuring continuous improvement and new program success.
  • Implement templates and tools used across colleges and graduate programs to ensure consistency in engagement, interaction, and quality.
  • Ensure university graduate application and enrolment growth targets are met.

 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, with a preference for a Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing and student recruitment, ideally within a higher education setting, or a similar sales field requiring target outcomes. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. 
  • Strong digital marketing understanding and skill, including content creation, SEO/SEM, and social media management.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively, to ensure outcomes.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • A valid driver’s license.
