Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head Cafeteria Helper, at Gryph’s Craft Kitchen and Ale House,  the successful candidate will provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to guests while ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment. Responsibilities include setting up food and beverage service areas in accordance with departmental specifications; greeting guests and providing attentive table service, including taking and delivering food and beverage orders accurately. The Server will also be responsible for restocking counters, service stations, and supplies as required throughout the shift, as well as communicating effectively with customers to ensure a positive dining experience and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and organized dining area and service stations at all times is essential, along with assisting with the safe handling, storage, and clean-up of food, beverages, and equipment. The role also includes performing opening duties as well as completing closing duties including restocking for the next shift, assisting with end-of-day cleaning, and ensuring all closing checklists are completed. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• Some formal education and food preparation/service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. 
• Smart Serve certification is required.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for prolonged periods of time. 
• WHMIS training, food handlers certificate preferred. 
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is also expected.
