General Purpose
Under the direction of the Associate Vice-President, Institutional Research and Planning, the Director, Forecasting and Revenue Planning is a strategic leader responsible for advancing enrolment and revenue forecasting and planning to support the long-term fiscal sustainability of the university. This role provides expert analysis, leadership, and support to senior administration on tuition revenue and enrolment trends to support faculty planning and academic budgeting.

 

The Director plays a key role in the ongoing development and refinement of revenue planning and forecasting tools to support Colleges in evidence-informed decision-making. Working closely with the Director, Budget and Resource Planning, the successful candidate will help shape university-wide budgetary strategy and ensure that academic planning aligns with institutional priorities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enrolment & Tuition Revenue Planning
    • Lead development and refinement of tuition revenue and enrolment forecasting models.
    • Oversee all admissions modeling, PAL allocation forecasting, and program demand analysis.
    • Communicate risk and revenue projections to senior leadership and support strategic enrolment planning.
    • Manage tracking and reconciliation of provincial grant funding, and forecast impacts of corridor funding positions.
    • Lead the development of revenue strategies that align with the university’s academic priorities and fiscal goals.
    • Develop sophisticated revenue planning tools for use by Colleges and academic leaders.
    • Monitor sector trends to support policy development and financial decision-making.
  • Revenue Planning Support for Colleges
    • Partner with Deans and College leadership to improve revenue planning and scenario modeling.
    • Advise on sustainable faculty hiring plans and revenue impacts of academic program changes.
    • Advance financial literacy and strengthen understanding of the revenue side of the budget model across academic units.
    • Play a leadership role in refining and improving the institutional budget model.
  • Board & Government Reporting
    • Prepare financial reports and performance indicators for the Board of Governors.
    • Contribute to financial planning components of Strategic Mandate Agreements and tuition policy discussions.
    • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and communicate financial implications of policy changes.
  • Leadership & Operational Oversight
    • Lead financial planning functions within IRP, providing oversight to a team of analysts and planners.
    • Represent the university in provincial and national forums on academic finance and planning.
    • Champion continuous improvement and strategic integration of financial and academic planning.

 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree along with a CPA or CFA designation; Master's degree or PhD is an asset.
  • Extensive experience in academic financial planning, revenue modeling, or strategic enrolment management in a post-secondary environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex forecasting initiatives and provide decision support at the executive level.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Deep understanding of Ontario’s post-secondary funding framework and institutional finance best practices.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, scenario analysis, and policy development within complex academic settings.

The target hiring salary for this position is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
