Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Live Work Well Research Centre, College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, the Administrative Assistant position provides consistent and high quality administrative support for 2 days/week (14 hours/week) to national and international funded research projects The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating substantial international and Canadian travel, processing, monitoring, and tracking financial transactions such as cheque requisitions, purchase orders, transfers, and expense reports, and supporting logistics for events such as workshops, seminars, and meetings. The incumbent will take on additional activities and responsibilities in support of the broader Centre operations as necessary and as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements for the position include: Two to three (2-3) years of post-secondary education, with some experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; some office administration or introductory accounting program to acquire necessary computer skills and/or understanding of basic accounting principles; marketing and communications to acquire specialized communications; and/or event-planning skills. The ability to work both pro-actively and re-actively under tight time-frames and competing priorities; strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 365), Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, FRS, and other University–based information systems. Previous experience or familiarity with financial management is an asset.
